History
The Company is formed in 1984 under founders American Express Bank and two long-standing Taiwanese local banks, Chiao Tung Bank and Chang Hwa Commercial Bank. The Company then served mainly as the leasing vehicle of the three founding banks. In 1993, American Express Bank sold its entire stake to China Development Industrial Bank, a leading financial institution in Taiwan, who subsequently became the primary shareholder and operator. In 1998, as a result of rapid business expansion and extension of coverage to corporate finance, equipment, vessel and aircraft leasing, the Company filed for an IPO and successfully listed its shares in Taiwan OTC. Business performance began to slide in the early 2000s and it was not until 2005 that the Company responded to the slide by reducing substantially all its registered capital to offset the deficit while China Development Industrial Bank withdrew from the management and liquidated its entire shareholding. Since then, the Company underwent a major restructuring le d by Mr. Chia Hung Lee after new capital injection. Mr. Lee formed a new management team to reformulate the business strategy and direction of the Company to focus on the leasing of commercial real property, successfully restoring the financial position of the Company.
